The prime responsibility of youth according to Quaid e Azam
Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah had always been an ardent supporter of youth and their role in the development of a nation. His own prowess in speech and writing gave him a luminous speed to excel in the subcontinent, and he was widely adored for his sui generis modus operandi in advocacy. Being a young barrister, he knew that the youth has a mammoth onus on their shoulders. Youth was the apple of Quaid’s eye, and he had immense faith in the youth which is evident in his speeches.
At a public meeting in Dhaka after independence; he gave the advice of fairness with oneself to the youth. By fair to oneself also includes being fair to the state. He underpinned the vitality of education. He himself was an erudite personality; ergo he was well aware of the importance of education. According to this advice; it can be construed that he put the responsibility on the youth to strive for fairness in every field and enact the rule of fairness everywhere.
Furthermore, he saw the leaders of tomorrow in the youth of Pakistan. He told the youth that they must arm themselves to the teeth with discipline, education, and training because an arduous task is waiting for them. By saying this, he enunciated that youth must realize the magnitude of their responsibility, and they may up for it. He knew that Pakistan will have to go through many convulsions, so he told the youth prematurely that what and how they can deal with the problem.
In addendum to this, he was well acquainted with the fact that traitors and selfish people would be roaming around trying to deteriorate the peace of Pakistan. So he rang the alarm bell for the youth that they must be vigilant enough to see such perpetrators. Jinnah was a calculated person, and his political shrewdness was privy to none. Even Lord Mountbatten was well aware of his pragmatic approach.
Additionally, he was a staunch supporter of equality. Hence he pressed on the need of maintaining equality in society and adapt to tolerance. With equality and tolerance; peace prevails in society. It was and is not only the need of Pakistan but also the rule of thumb in Islam. One of the responsibilities of youth is also to maintain the practice of equality in society and perpetuate the practice of tolerance.
By the same token, Quaid e Azam always said that the youth must not shy away from any work. Even if they have to indulge their selves in the labor work they must not hesitate in doing that. Because at the end of the day, every brick put in the place and properly cemented is a stepping stone towards the development of the country.

Cutting the long story short, Pakistan’s youth is 64% of the population. And yet Pakistan continues to languish in underdevelopment. One of the prime reasons behind all the status quo is that Pakistan’s youth is sitting in oblivion like a couch potato. They have forgotten their responsibility that Quaid e Azam told them. Pakistan is doomed to fail because they don’t heed the teachings of their founding father. Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s personality was and is widely praised, but didn’t make the most out of it. We as a nation have failed to realize our responsibility, and if we remained rigid; we will fall into the dark abyss.
